It’s a major business hub of the world and one of the most exciting cities. Adults flock to the Big Apple for an array of reasons but parents bring the kids along for the one-of-a-kind experiences. Go on pizza stores, visit the Empire State Building, and find a lot more to do with the kiddies in NYC.
Chow Down on Pizza
Whose kid doesn’t like eating pizza for half of the day? The pizza bus takes riders on a tour of the city’s most-respected pizzerias. Take a five-hour tour that will lead you through cheeses and the best crust that Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Staten Island can offer.

Catch a Glimpse from the Empire State Building
The building is a shining iconic example of the enormity of the city. Regardless of the day or weather, you and the kiddies can take an elevator up to the 86th floor. Or, you can skip the lines and buy your ticket online. It’s suggested to go early in the morning or at dusk for a great view of the sunrise or sunset.
Picnic in the Park
Battery Park is a massive 25-acre public park. Take the kids to see Castle Clinton, a fort that was built in the early 1800s. Additionally, the array of memorials is a great chance to mention history and battles. The World War II Memorial takes the shape of an eagle with giant talons with names of those who served etched on them. See some of the sites and then sit down for a classic picnic with your loved ones.
Tour the Natural History Museum
The museum encompasses two entire city blocks so it’s unlikely you’ll be able to see all in just one day. Look at the floor plan of the museum and decide what will be the most fun to see. Kids can simulate hunting animals, see space shows at the Hayden Planetarium, and watch nature shows on the huge IMAX screen. Whether your kids want to be an astronaut or study tribes in other lands, the natural history museum has child appeal.
Walk the Brooklyn Bridge
Step out of your chosen hotel and head towards Brooklyn. You may decide to rent bicycles to get across or take a waltz from one side of the Brooklyn Bridge to the other. Get a full view of the city, taking in skyscrapers, water, and New York’s skyline. It’s over a mile to the other side, so you can spend a bit of time walking and taking your time. Bring water and some snacks in case the kids need to recharge.
Go See the Toys
Parents remember the excitement of going to Toys R Us as a kid. The flagship store is located in New York City. The three-story indoor Ferris wheel is the main attraction but there is a gigantic Barbie house, an entire section devoted to video games, and an ice cream store on the lower level.
